Chocolate Banana Smoothie

The other day I tried making a sushi bowl for dinner and it turned out terrible! I didn’t like it at all, so I threw it out. I still needed to eat something, but I didn’t want to cook. So I whipped up this chocolate banana smoothie, and let me tell ya, it is GOOD!

Chocolate Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 cup chocolate milk

  • 1 handful spinach (frozen or fresh)

  • 1 scoop or packet of vanilla protein powder

  • 1 tbsp nut butter

  • 1/4 cup frozen riced cauliflower (trust me, you can’t taste it)

  • Ice cubes (more ice cubes will make the smoothie thicker, less with result in a thinner smoothie)

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients together in a blender and blend until smooth!

  2. Pour into a tall glass, add a clear straw, and enjoy!

Helpful Tips:

  • The more frozen ingredients you use, the less ice cubes you will need. If you use fresh banana and spinach, you’ll need to add more ice to thicken the smoothie.

  • If the smoothie is not blending, you may need to add more chocolate milk.

  • You cannot taste the riced cauliflower, I PROMISE! It’s just there to bulk up the smoothie, and give it some extra volume and fiber! If your body doesn’t handle cauliflower well, you can use frozen zucchini instead!

  • To make this recipe vegan/vegetarian, use vegan protein and a plant based chocolate milk!

  • Try adding hemp hearts for an extra fiber, omega 3, and protein boost!

  • I like using a clear straw with smoothies because I can see everything in the straw. With the opaque straws, you can’t tell if there are smoothie bits left in it after washing. These are my favorite clear glass straws from Amazon!

  • This is the Vitamix blender I use. I have had it for four years now and it is my baby! Definitely an investment, but it’s so worth it!

  • I love these tall mason jars for smoothies! They are the perfect size for a satisfying amount.
