Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Chocolate Covered Pretzels are the perfect salty and sweet snack. Growing up, I used to love white fudge pretzels! I could easily eat an entire bag in one sitting.

Now as an adult and a dietetics major, I know how much junk is actually in those little mini pretzel snacks. So I decided to make my own healthier version, and it was too simple and too delicious not to share!

You just need two ingredients: chocolate chips and mini pretzels.

I love having these Chocolate Covered Pretzels as an after dinner dessert or a quick sweet snack. They are also great for parties or get togethers!

CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZEL INGREDIENTS:

Chocolate chips-I love the no added sugar baking chips from Bake Believe, but you can use your favorite chocolate chip brand. Lily’s chocolate chips are another healthier option if you’re into that.

I used white chocolate and milk chocolate chips for this recipe, but you can use whatever flavor baking chips you prefer!

Mini pretzels-Snyder’s mini pretzels are my favorite but you can use any generic or gluten free brand. You can certainly use pretzel sticks instead of the mini pretzels and follow the same process.

Rainbow sprinkles-These are totally optional but add a fun pop of color.

HOW TO MAKE THE CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZELS

STEP 1. Add the chocolate chips to a bowl. If you are using multiple flavors of baking chips, add each flavor to separate bowls. Then microwave for 15 seconds at a time until fully melted.

STEP 2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper

STEP 3. Dip mini pretzels in melted chocolate until fully coated. Shake off the excess chocolate and place on parchment lined baking sheet. Repeat the process until chocolate is all used up.

STEP 4. Add sprinkles to the top of each pretzel (this step is optional)

STEP 5. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 15 minutes until the chocolate is hardened and then enjoy

STEP 6. Store the remaining pretzels (if there are any) in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to a week.

This recipe only makes about 20-24 pretzels so if you are making these for a large group or gathering, I suggest doubling or tripling the recipe.
