Ingredients

  • 6 ounces whole milk
  • 6 ounces 2% milk
  • 2-3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk adjust based on your sweetness preference
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder or cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon instant espresso or instant coffee powder or substitute 1 tablespoon brewed coffee or cold brew
  • tiny pinch salt about ⅛ teaspoon
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Optional Toppings Whipped cream, mini marshmallows, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, or McCormick Candy Cane Finishing Sugar

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the whole milk, 2% milk, sweetened condensed milk, cacao powder, instant espresso, and salt.
  • Bring to medium-high heat and whisk constantly until smooth, fully combined, and just starting to steam (about 3–5 minutes).
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and peppermint extracts.
  • Pour into a heatproof mug and top with your desired toppings.
