Carrot Cake Cold Brew (with Cream Cheese Cold Foam)

One of my favorite ways to make coffee at home feel more special is by taking familiar dessert flavors and turning them into simple, everyday drinks. This carrot cake cold brew does exactly that, with a spiced syrup and a creamy cold foam that comes together in minutes.

Think of this as your favorite slice of carrot cake… but in coffee form. And the best part? You can make it right at home with simple ingredients.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Tastes like carrot cake in drink form
  • Smooth, bold cold brew balanced with warm spices
  • Cream cheese cold foam adds a sweet yet tart bakery-style finish
  • Easy to make at home
  • Perfect for spring or fall coffee vibes

Ingredients

Carrot Cake Cold Brew

  • Ice cubes
  • 1-2 tablespoons Homemade Carrot Cake Syrup, adjust to taste
  • 10–12 ounces cold brew, unsweetened black
  • Cream Cheese Cold Foam (see below)
  • Ground cinnamon or nutmeg, for garnish

Cream Cheese Cold Foam

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon softened cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons milk (any kind works)
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream

How to Make Carrot Cake Cold Brew

1. Prepare the cold brew

Fill a glass with ice.
Add the carrot cake syrup, then pour the cold brew over top. Stir gently to combine.

2. Make the cold foam

In a small cup, combine the:

  • cream cheese
  • maple syrup
  • milk
  • heavy cream

Froth the mixture with a handheld milk frother until thick and creamy (about 15 seconds)

3. Assemble

Slowly pour the cream cheese cold foam over the top of the cold brew.

4. Garnish

Sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg. Serve immediately, and enjoy!

Tips for the Best Cold Foam

  • Use very soft cream cheese to avoid clumps
  • Don’t skip the milk — it helps thin and smooth the foam
  • Froth just until thickened (not stiff like whipped cream)
  • Taste and adjust sweetness if needed

Cold Brew Options

You can absolutely use any store-bought cold brew you love for this recipe — it’s a great way to keep things simple and quick.

If you prefer to make your coffee at home (and save money while doing it), I also have a full at home guide on 3 different ways to make cold brew, depending on the tools you have and your preferred strength.

Both options work great here, so go with whatever fits your routine best.

Variations & Substitutions

Dairy-Free Option

  • Use a dairy-free heavy cream alternative
  • Skip cream cheese or use a dairy-free version
  • Use a plant based milk in the cold foam

👉 Note: texture may be slightly less thick, but still good!

Sweeter Version

  • Add an extra 1/2 tablespoon of maple syrup in the cold foam or an extra 1/2 tablespoon of carrot cake syrup inside the cold brew

Extra Cozy Flavor

  • Add a dash of cinnamon directly into the cold brew
