SYRUPS VS SAUCES
It is important to note, Torani carries some flavors that are both a syrup and a sauce. For example: Torani White Chocolate Syrup and Torani White Chocolate Sauce. The main differences:
SYRUPS
- Torani Syrups have fewer ingredients than the sauces, and they are much thinner than the sauces
- The syrups are made of water, sugar, flavorings, and preservatives
- The syrups are dairy free
- I like to use the syrups when I make cold drinks like cold brews, iced coffees, energy drinks, iced teas, lemonades, and sodas since they easily mix into the liquid with just a straw or a spoon
- I often use syrups in frappes and cold foams too since they blend in easily
SAUCES
- Torani Sauces have more ingredients than the syrups, and they are thicker than the syrups
- The sauces typically include sweetened condensed milk in the recipe list
- The sauces are higher calorie than the syrups and they are NOT dairy free
- I like using the sauces in hot drinks like hot chocolate, hot coffee, and any espresso based drinks, since the warm liquid helps dissolve the sauce into the drink.
- I don’t recommend using the sauces in cold drinks like cold brews or iced coffees because they don’t blend in very well, and you risk the chance of slurping up a clump of the sauce
- I do like to use the sauces in frappes and cold foams because the blending/frothing motion helps break up and dissolve the sauce into the drink
