Homemade Maple Pecan Coffee Creamer

This Homemade Maple Pecan Coffee Creamer is creamy, sweet, buttery, and packed with cozy maple pecan flavor! And the best part? It takes about 5 minutes to make and requires absolutely no cooking.

Just add everything to a blender, blend until smooth, and you have a homemade fall coffee creamer ready to add to your iced coffee, hot coffee, cold brew, or even tea.

The combination of pure maple syrup, maple extract, butter pecan extract, vanilla, and a touch of cinnamon gives this creamer that warm, buttery maple-pecan flavor that tastes like fall in your coffee.

And because we’re using both pure maple syrup AND maple extract, you get plenty of maple flavor without having to add a ton of extra sweetness.

  • Made with just 7 ingredients
  • No cooking required
  • Sweetened with pure maple syrup
  • Easy to adjust to your preferred sweetness
  • Perfect for hot or iced coffee

Ingredients

You’ll need:

  • 16 ounces half & half
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup, add more as needed
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract
  • 1 teaspoon butter pecan extract
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Why Both Maple Syrup and Maple Extract?

I like using a combination of pure maple syrup and maple extract in this recipe because they serve slightly different purposes.

The maple syrup adds natural sweetness and real maple flavor, while the maple extract makes that flavor much more pronounced without requiring you to keep adding syrup—and therefore more sugar—to the creamer.

Start with ½ cup of maple syrup, blend everything together, and then taste your creamer. If you prefer a sweeter creamer, you can always add a little more maple syrup and blend again.

What Does Butter Pecan Extract Do?

Butter pecan extract is the secret to getting that cozy, buttery, nutty flavor without needing to cook or steep actual pecans in the creamer.

Combined with maple, vanilla, cinnamon, and a little salt, it gives this creamer a flavor that reminds me of maple pecan desserts, but in coffee or tea form!

Equipment You’ll Need

You only need a few basic kitchen tools to make this recipe:

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Bottle or mason jar with a lid for storage

How to Make Maple Pecan Coffee Creamer

1. Add Everything to Your Blender

Add the half & half, maple syrup, maple extract, butter pecan extract, vanilla extract, salt, and ground cinnamon to a blender.

2. Blend Until Smooth

Blend until everything is completely combined and the creamer is smooth and creamy.

3. Taste and Adjust

Give your creamer a taste.

I recommend starting with ½ cup of maple syrup and adding more only if you want your creamer sweeter.

Remember that you’re going to be adding the creamer to coffee or tea, so you may want it to taste slightly sweeter on its own than you think it needs to!

4. Store

Pour the finished creamer into a bottle or mason jar with a lid and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Give the creamer a good shake before each use, as some of the cinnamon and flavoring may naturally settle while it sits.

How to Use Maple Pecan Coffee Creamer

Try adding it to:

Hot Coffee: Add a splash to freshly brewed coffee for the easiest Maple Pecan Coffee.

Iced Coffee: Pour it over iced coffee an easy fall drink.

Cold Brew: The buttery maple flavor is SO good with a bold cold brew.

Iced Americano: Add a splash to espresso and water over ice for something a little stronger and less milky than an iced latte.

Hot Tea: Try it in a black tea or chai for an easy maple pecan fall tea.

Iced or Hot Chai: Add a splash to your favorite iced or hot chai latte for extra maple, pecan, and cinnamon flavor.

How to Make It Dairy-Free

This recipe is incredibly easy to make dairy-free.

Simply replace the traditional half & half with 16 ounces of your favorite dairy-free half & half and prepare the recipe exactly the same way.

You’ll also want to check the label on your butter pecan extract if you’re making the recipe for someone who strictly avoids dairy, since formulations can vary by brand.

How to Make a Lower-Sugar Maple Pecan Coffee Creamer

There are a couple of easy ways to reduce the sugar in this recipe.

The easiest option is to replace the traditional maple syrup with a sugar-free maple syrup.

Or, if you still want to use pure maple syrup, start with ¼ cup instead of ½ cup. The maple extract will help maintain that strong maple flavor even though you’re reducing the amount of maple syrup.

Taste the finished creamer and adjust from there. You can always add a little more syrup if needed!

Can I Adjust the Sweetness?

Absolutely—and I actually recommend it.

One of my favorite things about making coffee creamer at home is that YOU get to decide exactly how sweet you want it.

Start with the ½ cup of maple syrup called for in the recipe. Once everything is blended, taste it and decide whether you want to add more.

If you tend to like less-sweet coffee, you can even start with ¼ cup and work your way up.

Do I Have to Use Cinnamon?

No! The cinnamon adds a little extra warmth and makes this creamer taste especially cozy for fall, but you can leave it out if you want. You can also start with just a pinch and add more to taste.

How to Store Homemade Coffee Creamer

Pour your Maple Pecan Coffee Creamer into a tightly sealed bottle or mason jar and keep it refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.

Because homemade creamer doesn’t contain the same stabilizers as many store-bought creamers, some separation is completely normal. Just shake well before using and pour it straight into your coffee or tea.

If your half & half or another ingredient has an earlier expiration date, use that as your guide instead.
