If you’re looking for a Starbucks Toasted Coconut Latte recipe you can make at home, this is the one.
This copycat version is creamy, perfectly balanced, and has way more toasted coconut flavor than the original. Plus, it uses simple ingredients you can find at any grocery store. Whether you’re trying to save money, skip the Starbucks line, or just want a more consistent latte every time, this recipe makes it easy.

Ingredients
- 1–2 tablespoons Homemade Toasted Coconut Syrup (or store-bought), adjust to taste
- 2 shots espresso
- 6–8 ounces milk of choice (Starbucks uses 2% for this drink)
- Ice cubes
- Toasted coconut flakes (for topping), optional

How to Make a Toasted Coconut Latte
- Add the toasted coconut syrup to your glass.
- Brew a double shot of espresso, and then add to the cup and stir to combine. If you’re new to making espresso, see my post 5 Ways to Make Espresso at Home for machine and non-machine options.
- Pour the milk over top, and fill the glass with ice.
- Sprinkle with toasted coconut flakes, if using, and enjoy!

Make a Hot Latte
Want this as a hot latte?
Steam your milk using:
- a steam wand (on an espresso machine)
- an electric milk frother
- OR heat milk in the microwave or on the stove and froth with a handheld frother for added texture
Then pour the warmed frothed milk over your espresso + syrup mixture. Omit the ice, top with toasted coconut flakes, and enjoy.

How to Toast Coconut Flakes
To toast coconut flakes for the topping:
Add unsweetened coconut flakes to a pan over medium-low heat.
Stir frequently until the coconut turns golden brown (about 5-8 minutes).
Remove from heat immediately and transfer the toasted coconut to a separate container to prevent burning.

Starbucks Size Guide (Optional for Exact Copycat)
I personally prefer my lattes a little less sweet and more coffee-forward.
But if you’re trying to recreate the exact Starbucks taste at home, you can follow these standard cup ratios for Tall, Grande, and Venti sizes.
| TALL | GRANDE | VENTI | |
| TOASTED COCONUT SYRUP | 1.5 TABLESPOONS | 2 TABLESPOONS | 2.5 TABLESPOONS |
| ESPRESSO | 1 SHOT | 2 SHOTS | 3 SHOTS |
| MILK | 6 OUNCES | 8 OUNCES | 12 OUNCES |
| ICE | TO FILL THE CUP | TO FILL THE CUP | TO FILL THE CUP |
| TOASTED COCONUT FLAKES | NONE | NONE | NONE |

Dairy-Free Option
Easily make this dairy-free by using:
- oat milk
- almond milk
- coconut milk (for extra coconut flavor 👀)
- OR your favorite plant based milk option
Sugar-Free Option
You can make a no added sugar toasted coconut syrup using allulose.
Allulose is my favorite for homemade sugar-free syrups because it:
- doesn’t crystallize
- has a smooth texture
- tastes closest to real sugar
Simply swap your sweetener for allulose in your homemade toasted coconut syrup recipe, or use a store-bought sugar free coconut syrup.
