What is a Mocktail?

A mocktail is a beverage that resembles the same fun and flair as a cocktail beverage, but without the alcohol. Mocktails are alcohol free drinks that are great for kids, soon to be moms, or anyone looking for a fun and fancy drink without the alcohol.

Homemade Cranberry Syrup: I know homemade syrups can be intimidating, but I pinky promise you, it is SO SIMPLE and you cannot mess this up! Simply add cranberries, sugar, cranberry juice and salt in a pot. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain out the cranberries and you have Homemade Cranberry Syrup! This syrup is so flavorful and perfect for the holidays, and it Cranberry Mistletoe Mocktail. Note, you can substitute with regular cranberry juice instead of making a syrup, and the drink will still be delicious.

Ginger Ale/Ginger Beer: My personal favorite base for this recipe is the Canada Dry Zero Sugar Ginger Ale. I like the taste and appreciate that it has no additional sugar since we’re already adding a sweetened cranberry syrup, but feel free to use whichever ginger ale or ginger beer option you like best. If you’re not a fan of ginger ale or beer, use a lemon lime soda or sparkling water, or even a plain sparkling water or club soda instead!

True Grapefruit Packets: True Grapefruit is a water enhance made from crystallized grapefruit juice. It comes in a powder form, almost like a sugar packet, but it actually has ZERO GRAMS of sugar! Each packet gives the same flavor as one grapefruit wedge, so they are the perfect addition to mocktails, waters, or teas. You can absolutely use freshly squeezed or store bought grapefruit juice if you prefer.

Fresh Cranberries: I love adding some fresh cranberries for garnish!

Fresh Rosemary: Adding a sprig of rosemary really ties the drink together and offers a lovely rosemary scent with every sip.

Ice: This is a chilled beverage, so you’ll need ice to keep the mocktail cold.
