Salted Popcorn: I prefer using popcorn that is salted but has not butter flavor to it, but if you only have buttered popcorn in the pantry, that works perfectly fine too! You can pop your own popcorn using popcorn kernels, coconut oil, and a pinch of salt. Add the ingredients to a popcorn maker or pot and pop using your preferred method!

White Chocolate Bar/Bark: I recommend using a white chocolate bar or bark. Many white chocolate chips have ingredients in them that make it hard to melt, so a bar is ideal for this recipe. Feel free to use dark chocolate or milk chocolate if white chocolate isn’t your thing!

Flaky Sea Salt: I love adding a pinch of salt to balance out the sweetness of the white chocolate, and to tie together all the flavors of the dessert!

Crushed Candy Canes: The crushed candy canes give this dessert a delicious crunch and subtle peppermint flavor. Crush your own candy canes using a rolling pin or mallet, or buy already crushed candy canes from the store.

Holiday Sprinkles: Use whatever red or green sprinkles you have in the cabinet! There’s so many fun holiday shaped sprinkles you can find at any grocery store in the baking aisle. The sprinkles are totally optional, but they add extra crunch and extra fun to this White Chocolate Peppermint Bark Popcorn recipe!

How To Make White Chocolate Peppermint Bark Popcorn:

  1. Pop your popcorn and add salt if needed. Opt for a bag of microwave popcorn or pop your own using popcorn kernels, your choice of oil or butter, and a generous pinch of salt, and place the popped popcorn in a large bowl.
  2. Remove the plastic wrapper from your candy canes, and add the candy canes to a plastic baggy. Place the bag on top of a tea towel or kitchen towel to prevent the candy canes from making divets in your countertop/table/floor. Smash the candy canes with a rolling pin or mallet until fully crushed.
  3. Break up a white chocolate bar into small pieces and add to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 15 second intervals until full melted, stirring between each interval.
  4. Once melted, add a pinch of salt to the white chocolate, and stir until the salt is dissolved.
  5. Pour the melted white chocolate and the crushed candy canes over the popped salted popcorn, and mix well until the popcorn is fully coated.
  6. Add holiday sprinkles, and enjoy!
