Starbucks Vanilla Sweet Cream

Have you ever found yourself craving that creamy, velvety goodness of Starbucks’ Sweet Cream but wished you could enjoy it from the comfort of your home? Well, your wish has just come true! With just three simple ingredients, you can whip up your very own Starbucks Sweet Cream and take your homemade coffee creations to the next level.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 6 ounces Vanilla Syrup: vanilla syrup adds that classic vanilla flavor and delicious sweetness that comes with Vanilla Sweet Cream! I prefer using my Homemade Vanilla Syrup for this recipe for the best flavor, but you could absolutely use a store-bought vanilla syrup option like Torani, Monin, or Starbucks. For a lower sugar sweet cream, use a homemade sugar free vanilla syrup or a sugar free store-bought syrup.
  • 10 ounces 2% milk: The 2% milk balances out the richness of the cream and adds a lightness to the sweet cream. Starbucks uses 2% milk, but feel free to use a barista oat milk or any other plant based milk you prefer.
  • 15 ounces Heavy whipping cream: The heavy cream is essential for providing the rich, creamy texture that tastes delicious inside beverages and also helps create the thick cold foam texture to stay on top of drinks. Feel free to use a dairy free heavy cream if desired.

How to Make Starbucks Vanilla Sweet Cream

Makes 31 ounces

  1. Combine the vanilla syrup, 2% milk, and heavy whipping cream in a large 32 ounce mason jar or a pitcher, and secure with a lid. I like this mason jar with a pour spout lid.
  2. Shake the mixture well to combine.
  3. Use the sweet cream in any recipe right away, or store in the fridge for up to 7-10 days, or until the best by date on your heavy cream.
  4. Optional: If you want Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam that sits on top of your drink, froth the sweet cream mixture with a handheld milk frother until thick (about 15 seconds) to make and then pour the cold foam over any drink of choice.

For a single serving of sweet cream:

If you don’t want to make a large batch for the week, you can make a single serving of sweet cream using:

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup
  • 2 tablespoons 2% milk
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  1. In a small cup, combine the vanilla syrup, 2% milk, and heavy whipping cream. Stir well with a spoon until all the ingredients are combined, and then pour the mixture into your choice of beverage (cold brew, lattes, tea, etc)!

How Can I Make This Lower Calories and Sugar?

For ways to lower the calories and sugar:

Feel free to make as many modifications above as you see fit!

How Can I Make This Dairy Free?

For a dairy free Vanilla Sweet Cream:

  • Replace the 2% milk with oat milk, or any other dairy free milk alternative you enjoy
  • Replace the heavy cream with soy milk, dairy free heavy whipping cream, or chilled coconut whipping cream

Can I Make Different Flavored Sweet Creams Other Than Vanilla?

You absolutely can! Add any flavored syrup, sauce, extract, or powder to your vanilla sweet cream to make it any flavor you’d like! Think: Salted Caramel Syrup, Peppermint extract, or lavender powder.

You can simply mix the flavor into your sweet cream and pour that into your drink, or you can froth the mixture up using a handheld milk frother  to make a cold foam to pour on top! See all my Starbucks Cold Foams recipes for flavor ideas you can try!

Ways To Enjoy Vanilla Sweet Cream:

  • Add the Sweet Cream to any at home cold brew, iced coffee, or hot coffee.
  • Swap the milk in any latte recipe for Vanilla Sweet Cream.
  • Make your favorite Starbucks Cold Foams by combining the Sweet Cream recipe and 1/2-1 tablespoon of another flavored syrup (salted caramel, strawberry, lavender, macadamia nut, etc).
  • Add Sweet Cream to your favorite at home Starbucks Refresher recipe.
