Whether or not you’ve tried a Golden Eagle Chai from Dutch Bros, you absolutely need to try this at home recipe. This drink is a deliciously sweet and rich vanilla caramel chai latte that puts all other chai latte recipes to shame. Let’s dive into the ingredients you’ll need to make this drink at home, and I promise, your mind will be blown by how simple this drink is to make yourself!

Ingredients You’ll Need:
Please note, full measurements are listed on the recipe card at the bottom of the recipe. Scroll to the end, or click the JUMP TO RECIPE button at the top of the page.
Vanilla Syrup: Dutch Bros uses Torani brand syrups and sauces, so to get the exact same taste at home, you’ll need the Torani Vanilla Syrup. Feel free to use another brand if desired, or use the Torani Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup for a sugar free alternative. If you’d prefer a homemade vanilla syrup, you’ll need 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon salt. I’ll share the full instructions later in this recipe.
Caramel Sauce: Again, Dutch Bros uses Torani brand syrup and sauces, so you’d need the Torani Caramel Sauce to complete this drink. You’ll add the sauce inside of the drink as well as on top of the completed drink! Note, Torani does have a Sugar Free Caramel Sauce option if you’re looking for a sugar free option!
Chai Concentrate: Dutch Bros uses the Oregon Chai brand for their in-store chai lattes. You can opt for the regular or sugar free version! Dutch Bros uses a 1:1 ratio of concentrate to half & half so that’s what I will show in the recipe, however I myself prefer a 1:2 ratio so feel free to adjust the ratios to match your preference!
Half & Half: This drink is unique because it uses half & half as the base, rather than milk. This gives the Dutch Bros Golden Eagle Chai that iconic creaminess and richness! You can use any half & half from the grocery store, just know a fat free option will be slightly less rich and creamy. If you are dairy free, I very much recommend using the Nutpods Dairy Free Half & Half. I’m not dairy free myself, but I love this product! It is so creamy and has much less calories than regular half & half so I personally love using it in my homemade Dutch Bros Golden Eagle recipes, but absolutely feel free to use whatever you like best!
Ice: For an iced chai latte, you will need ice. If you want a hot chai latte, no ice is needed!

How To Make An Iced Dutch Bros Golden Eagle Chai
- To a cup, add vanilla syrup, caramel sauce, chai concentrate and half & half.
- Stir well to combine all the ingredients and dissolve the sauce.
- Add ice to a separate serving cup and pour the chai mixture over the ice.
- Finish off your Dutch Bros Golden Eagle Chai with a generous drizzle of Torani Caramel Sauce and enjoy!

How To Make A Hot Dutch Bros Golden Eagle Chai
- Combine chai concentrate and half & half in a milk frothing pitcher and steam using a steam wand. If you don’t have an espresso machine with a steam wand, you can warm and froth the mixture using a Nespresso aerroccino, or you could warm the mixture in a pot/ in the microwave, and froth the warmed mixture with a handheld milk frother until foamy.
- To a separate cup add vanilla syrup and caramel sauce.
- Pour the steamed chai mixture over the vanilla-caramel mixture and top with a generous drizzle of caramel sauce and enjoy!

How Would I Turn This Into A Golden Eagle Dirty Chai?
For a dirty chai, simply add a double shot of espresso to the vanilla and caramel syrup before adding in the chai concentrate. Then add in equal amounts of chai concentrate and half & half after that!
How Can I Make This Lower Sugar/Lower Calories?
If you still want to enjoy a Dutch Bros Golden Eagle Chai just with less sugar and fewer calories, feel free to make as many modifications as you’d like below:
- Use a dairy free half and half (15 calories per 2 tbsp servings versus 40 calories in regular half & half)
- Use a sugar free vanilla syrup
- Use a sugar free caramel sauce
- Use a sugar free chai concentrate

How Can I Make This Dairy Free?
For a dairy free Dutch Bros Golden Eagle Chai:
- Use a dairy free half and half
- Use a dairy free caramel sauce
