Starbucks Spiced Apple Drizzle

When people think of fall drinks, they immediately think of pumpkin as the main fall flavor, but I want to give apple a chance in the spotlight. Starbucks has a delicious Spiced Apple Drizzle that just screams fall, and it goes well with so many recipes!

This drizzle recipe is super simple to make, and uses every day ingredients like apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar! I promise, this Starbucks Spiced Apple Drizzle will become a new favorite in your household this fall. Let’s jump into everything you’ll need.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups apples peeled and diced – Use sweeter apples like fuji, gala, or honeycrisp. Green apples work too, you’ll just need to add more brown sugar.
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice – Freshly squeezed works best, but bottled works too.
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed – light works too
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch – to thicken
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup apple juice – apple cider works too

Instructions

  • To a medium saucepan combine the peeled and diced apples, apple juice, lemon juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Stir to combine, and bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring often.
  • Let the mixture simmer for 8-10 minutes, or until the mixture thickens. Stir every 2-3 minutes, scraping down the sides of the saucepan.
  • Once thickened, remove the saucepan from heat, and pour the mixture through a strainer, into a heatproof container. Place the apple chunks in a separate container.
  • Let the mixture cool at room temperature for at least one hour, then transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.

What Can I Do With The Leftover Apples?

Don’t throw away the apples after you make your drizzle. Instead, store them in an airtight container in the fridge and use them to top your oatmeal, chia pudding, pancakes, waffles, or ice cream! I like to warm them up in the microwave for 15 seconds and then add as a topping.
