Starbucks Apple Brown Sugar Syrup

If you’re a fan of the apple drinks at Starbucks, you have to make your own Apple Brown Sugar Syrup at home! You only need five total ingredients, and then you can make your favorite apple drinks like a Starbucks Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, a Starbucks Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato, a Starbucks Iced Caramel Apple Cream Latte, or a Starbucks Iced Apple Crisp Nondairy Cream Chai!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed (light brown works too)
  • 1 cup apple juice, or apple cider
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan combine the brown sugar, apple juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir to combine and dissolve the sugar.
  2. Bring the mixture to a light simmer over medium low heat, and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. The mixture should thicken slightly to be a slightly thicker syrup texture rather than a thin juice texture. If the syrup thickens like a sauce, that means your heat is too high.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and strain using a fine mesh strainer, into a mason jar or syrup bottle.
  5. Allow the syrup to cool at room temperature for at least one hour.
  6. Add a lid and store the syrup in an airtight container, and in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
