Sugar Free Cinnamon Roll Cold Brew

My husband and I drove past a Cinnabon the other day and we both simultaneously said, “I haven’t had a cinnamon roll in forever.” So naturally, we whipped the car around and founds ourselves in the Cinnabon drive thru ordering one too many cinnamon rolls.

The entire divine experience of stuffing my face with the delicious sweet treat, I thought about how I could turn this heavenly dessert into a fabulous coffee beverage, and make it taste delicious without any added sugars. That is how this recipe came about. It is absolutely delightful, and I know you’re going to love it. Let’s dive into the ingredients you’ll need.

Ingredients Needed To Make a Sugar Free Cinnamon Roll Cold Brew

COLD BREW: This is a a cold brew recipe so you will need unsweetened black cold brew. To keep this drink sugar free, make sure you get an unsweetened cold brew. Check the label on your store bought cold brew container to make sure there’s no sugar added. If you make your own cold brew at home, that’s perfect too! You could easily swap the cold brew for equal amounts of iced coffee if you prefer. If you want a latte version of this recipe, you will need espresso instead of cold brew, and I will share that full latte recipe later in this blog post!

ICE: Always add lots of ice to your cold brew drinks so they stay chilled and refreshing with every sip.

TORANI SUGAR FREE FRENCH VANILLA SYRUP: This syrup has a delicious vanilla custard flavor that perfectly resembles the deliciousness of a cinnamon roll. Note, you could also use the Torani Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup or Sugar Free Vanilla Bean Syrup for a very similar vibe, and if you’re not looking for sugar free options, use the regular French Vanilla, Vanilla, or Vanilla Bean syrup!

HEAVY CREAM: I am a big fan of the cold brew + heavy cream combo! I like the creaminess of heavy cream more than say half & half or another milk option, but absolutely feel free to use whatever milk/cream option you prefer. Try oat milk, almond milk, half & half, or a creamer instead of the heavy cream to fit your dietary or personal preference!

SUGAR FREE WHIPPED CREAM: To keep up with the sugar free vibe, this recipe uses sugar free whipped cream. You can buy this from most grocery stores in the dairy section, or you could make your own at home with a whipped cream canister, N20 chargers, Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup and heavy cream! The sugar free whipped cream gives a sweet and creamy cinnamon roll icing vibe without the extra sugar, but you could also make cold foam instead to pour over the top!

GROUND CINNAMON: Of course you can’t forget the cinnamon in a cinnamon roll coffee recipe so I like to sprinkle a bit on top for a little extra flair, aroma, and cinnamon roll flavor. Swap the cinnamon for pumpkin pie spice for a more fall vibe or do cocoa powder instead for a more chocolatey vibe.

I want to share some of my favorite store bought cold brews as well as my preferred at home cold brew making method!

Best Store Bought Cold Brews

How to Make Cold Brew at Home:

If you prefer to make your own cold brew at home, this is the process I recommend:

  • Add 1 1/2 cups medium roast coffee grounds to a French Press.
  • Add 3 cups room temperature water to the French press and gently stir to saturate the grounds.
  • Place the plunger on top of the French Press to cover, but don’t plunge down.
  • Set the French Press on the counter and let brew for 18 hours.
  • After 18 hours, plunge down and pour the cold brew concentrate into a mason jar or a pitcher with a lid.
  • This is a concentrate, so I like to do 1 part concentrate to 2 parts cold water (1/2 cup concentrate to 1 cup cold water, or 1 cup concentrate to 2 cups cold water)
  • Then add your choice of syrups/sweeteners, milk/cream, and ice!

How to Make a Sugar Free Cinnamon Roll Cold Brew

  • To a cup, combine Torani Sugar Free French Vanilla Syrup, cold brew, heavy cream, and ice to fill the cup.
  • Stir with a spoon or straw to combine and chill.
  • Top with sugar free whipped cream, and a sprinkle of cinnamon, and enjoy!

This recipe is so simple and only takes two minutes to make! You really just dump everything into your favorite cup and head out the door. Ooh, and don’t forget to add a fun JavaSok sleeve to keep your cold brew nice and cold!

How To Make This as A Latte

If you prefer to make this Sugar Free Cinnamon Roll Cold Brew recipe as a latte using espresso, here’s what you’ll need:

  1. Brew your espresso using one of these 5 ways to make espresso at home methods.
  2. Add the Torani Sugar Free French Vanilla Syrup to a cup followed by the espresso, milk, and ice.
  3. Stir using a spoon or straw to combine and chill the latte.
  4. Top with sugar free whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Note for a HOT latte, you’ll need to steam the milk before adding to your espresso, and then don’t add any ice! Keep everything else the same.

How To Make This as A Frappe/Blended Coffee

For a blended coffee version of this recipe:

  • 1-2 tablespoons Torani Sugar Free French Vanilla Syrup
  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee
  • 8 ounces milk (2%, whole milk, oat milk, or whatever milk you like best)
  • 1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum
  • 3/4 cups ice
  • Sugar free whipped cream
  • Ground cinnamon
  1. To a blender add the Torani Sugar Free French Vanilla Syrup, instant coffee, milk, xanthan gum, and ice.
  2. Blend together until smooth, then pour into a cup.
  3. Top with sugar free whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
