Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie Latte

If you’ve already made my Homemade Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie Syrup, you have to try it in this latte. It’s sweet, nutty, buttery, and tastes like a slice of pecan pie in your coffee cup. Perfect for slow fall mornings or when you want a special weekend treat.

The syrup blends perfectly with espresso, and the steamed milk makes it luxuriously smooth. Add a little whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon or crushed pecans, and you’ve got yourself a coffee shop-worthy drink—without leaving home.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Add Syrup
Pour the Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie Syrup into your favorite mug or glass.
  2. Brew the Espresso
Pull the two shots of espresso right over the top of the syrup using your preferred espresso making method.
  3. Steam the Milk
Heat milk using a steam wand, milk frother, or on the stove until hot and frothy, and then pour the steamed milk over the espresso and syrup mixture. If you’re making an iced latte, skip this step and simply add cold milk straight from the fridge along with ice cubes.
  4. Top & Enjoy
Add whipped cream and a sprinkle of maple brown sugar finishing sugar (or ground cinnamon, crushed pecans or brown sugar) for that bakery-style touch.

How To Steam Milk at Home

  1. Steam Wand: If you have an espresso machine with a steam wand attached to it, watch this Milk Steaming Video Tutorial for how to steam milk! You simply add milk to a milk frothing pitcher, insert the tip of the steam wand into the milk, and create air bubbles, heat and texture to create perfect, velvety steamed milk at home!
  2. Electric Milk Frother: Add your milk to an electric milk frother, and select the hot setting. The milk frother will heat the milk as well as create a thick and foamy texture. The texture will be a little different than a typical steam wand, but it’s very similar and pleasant, and a great option if you don’t have an espresso machine with a steam wand.
  3. Handheld Milk Frother: Add cold milk to a large coffee mug and place the mug in the microwave for 60 seconds. Alternatively, you can heat up milk in a pot on the stove until warm, just make sure to constantly stir it so it doesn’t burn. Once your milk is warm, insert a handheld milk frother into the warm milk. Froth the mixture until the milk doubles in size and becomes bubbly and frothy, and you have warmed, frothed milk for your hot coffee drinks!

Variations

  • Dairy-Free: Use oat milk, almond milk, or coconut milk for a creamy non-dairy option. Swap regular whipped cream for coconut whipped cream.
  • Extra Nutty: Stir in a spoonful of pecan butter with the syrup before adding espresso or top with crushed candied pecans.
  • Switch the Topper: Opt for a flavored whipped topping like salted caramel or use a store-bought cold foam creamer.
  • Use a Store-Bought Syrup: Feel free to use any pecan flavored store-bought syrup if you don’t want to make your own homemade version.

Treat Pairings

This latte is indulgent all on its own, but pairing it with a seasonal baked treat makes it even more special. Try serving it with:
