Starbucks has been leaning hard into rich, dessert-inspired drinks lately, and the Iced Dubai Chocolate Mocha is no exception.
It’s indulgent, smooth, and absolutely feels like something you’d order as a treat… which also makes it perfect to recreate at home. With just a few ingredients, you can make this iced mocha for a fraction of the price while adjusting the sweetness and richness exactly to your taste.

What Is the Dubai Chocolate Mocha?
This drink is essentially a luxurious twist on a classic iced mocha. It starts with rich espresso and mocha sauce, then gets topped with a creamy pistachio cold foam and finished with a buttery seasoning that adds depth and warmth.
Think:
- Bold espresso
- Deep chocolate flavor
- Nutty pistachio cream
- A cozy, buttery finish
It’s dessert-like for when you want an elevated morning or afternoon coffee!

How to Make the Iced Dubai Chocolate Mocha
1. Make the iced mocha
Add 1–2 tablespoons mocha sauce to a glass. Brew 2 shots of espresso directly over the sauce and stir well until fully dissolved.
Add ice to the glass, then pour in 6–8 ounces of 2% milk. Stir gently and set aside.
2. Make the pistachio cream cold foam
In a separate cup, combine the pistachio sauce, 2% milk, and heavy cream. Use a handheld milk frother to froth until the mixture becomes thick and creamy (about 15-20 seconds).

Tips for the Best Iced Mocha at Home
- Start with 1 tablespoon mocha sauce and add more if you prefer a sweeter drink
- Use fresh coffee beans to make the espresso; see a list of my favorite coffees here
- The brown butter seasoning is subtle but adds a cozy, savory finish, don’t skip it
Can I Make This Dairy-Free?
Yes! Swap:
- 2% milk for barista style oat milk or extra creamy almond milk
- Heavy cream for a dairy-free heavy cream alternative
- Pistachio sauce for pistachio syrup
The cold foam may be slightly lighter, but the flavor will still be delicious.

Sugar-Free Option
To lower the sugar:
- Use a sugar-free mocha sauce or make your own using a sugar substitute
- Use a sugar-free pistachio syrup or sauce
- Skip or lightly sprinkle the brown butter topping
How to Make a Hot Dubai Chocolate Mocha
Good news, this drink is just as delicious hot, and the process is nearly identical.
To make a Hot Dubai Chocolate Mocha, simply steam the milk before pouring it over the mocha espresso mixture, and then omit the ice. Keep everything else the same.
For a more traditional hot mocha (no cold foam), you can skip the cold foam entirely and simply add pistachio sauce along with the mocha sauce inside the cup and then brew espresso overtop, add steamed milk and top with a sprinkle of brown butter seasoning.

If you love elevated mocha drinks or Starbucks copycats, this one is a must-try.
